Elite Epee and YDS Results

Elite Epée, 1 & 2 October

CJ continues to be a force to be reckoned with on the senior men's epée circuit, coming 5th at the Elite Epée. Daisy had a brilliant day at this high-level senior event, getting through the first round without being cut and missing out on a DE by only two hits - finishing 65 out of 106 overall.

Youth Development Series #1, 1 & 2 October

At the YDS, our tiny foilists were out in force and took home a hoard of medals between them. Ann-Emma won the girls' U11 foil; Umaira came 2nd in the U13 foil (and well done to winner Malinka, who represents Salle Holyrood but also trains with us at EFC); and Rebecca and Sasha took home bronzes in the U15s.

Alex Lopez was there representing our sabre boys - he came 3rd in the U13s.

On Sunday, Dylan scared off all the competition before the competition even started and sailed through to an uncontested victory in the U17 epée.

To end the weekend in style, we had three girls jointly representing EFC and our satellite club St Georges in the sabre. Caitlin combined neat skills with solid tactics to win the U13 sabre against a tough opponent from Salle Ossian. Emily gained a bronze in the U15s. And Lucy fenced like a trooper in the pools despite a broken toe, and was very pleased to not have to fence any DEs to pick up her gold medal.
