Edinburgh Fencing Club - Club Night

Edinburgh Fencing Club, as it is known today, is the result of a merger between two of the most successful clubs in Scotland.

In 1970, after the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games, Scotland's national coach Professor Bert Bracewell founded two fencing clubs: Meadowbank Fencing Club and Lothian Fencing Club. When Lothian Fencing Club closed in 1982 its members transferred to the club at Meadowbank.

In the mid 1990s, the club left Meadowbank Stadium and renamed itself Edinburgh Fencing Club.

Throughout its history, Edinburgh Fencing Club has produced fencers who have represented both Scotland and Great Britain at the World Championships and Olympic Games.
