Edinburgh Open 2017 Resutls

Congratulations to all of our fencers who took part at the Edinburgh Open! We were missing some of our senior fencers to other tournaments and commitments, but we still had competitors in every discipline representing the club.

From our more experienced fencers who brought home medals to the 13- and 14-year-olds at their first senior Open, we are proud of all of you.

Women's competitions
Epee: Bronze for Miriam, Daisy 9th
Foil: Bronze for Zoe, Umaira 7th, Ellen 11th
Sabre: Catriona 5th

2017 Beginners' Classes

Fancy getting fit this year? Want to try something new? Whether you're a budding athlete or a wannabe Jedi, sign up to a fencing beginners class with Edinburgh Fencing Club. We have dedicated classes for children and adults, and we provide all the kit you'll need.

Children's Fencing Classes

Ages: 9–15

Price: £25 per month for junior club membership (includes all classes and sessions)

Wednesdays: Foil and Sabre with Don and Andy

Time: 6pm to 8pm

Thursdays: Sabre with Naomi and Felicia

Time: 7pm to 8.30pm

Manchester Elite Epee

CJ has continued his dominant streak on the men's epee circut, coming 5th in the Elite Epee in Manchester on Sunday. Congratulations!

Scottish Open 2016

EFC were out in force at the new-look Scottish Open, with 17 fencers representing the club. And here are the results:

GB Epee Cadet Squad Selection

Congratulations to our young epéeists Dylan and Alex on their selected to the GB cadet men's epee squad going to Klagenfurt at the end of the month. Great work!

Elite Epee and YDS Results

Elite Epée, 1 & 2 October

CJ continues to be a force to be reckoned with on the senior men's epée circuit, coming 5th at the Elite Epée. Daisy had a brilliant day at this high-level senior event, getting through the first round without being cut and missing out on a DE by only two hits - finishing 65 out of 106 overall.

Cadet and Junior Results

Our young fencers have been out representing the club at the recent Cadet and Junior British Ranking Circuit competitions, and have had some smashing results.

Essex Open 2016

Congratulations to the 5 Edinburgh Fencing Club women foilists who, between them, dominated the The Essex Open: the first major open of the season. Chloe Dickson for retained her title from last year in a close and exciting final with Katie Smith.

CJ is British Champion!

We are proud and delighted to announce that CJ is the 2016 Men's Epee British Champion.

Our congratulations go to him and his coach, Andy Alderman.

Calum Wins Merseyside

Congratulations to Calum 'CJ' Johnstone, who won the Merseyside Open on Sunday 14 February, representing Edinburgh Fencing Club. The competition had a good entry of 72.
